Two items can be compared exactly with each other,

• If one item was the template of the other, or the other way around.
• Or if both items have the same template

Comparable items are either identical or non-identical.

All other items are not comparable with each other. Items that cannot be compared with each other are either added or deleted items. In the current work clearance document they correspond to added items. In the work clearance document being used as a basis for comparison, they correspond to deleted items.
