Definition

Used to make a distinction between amounts of money that are included in different ways as external wage components in the calculation of employee remuneration.

Use

Wage types are used in the SAP HR System to make a distinction between amounts that are used to meet different business objectives and are processed in different ways during a payroll run. The wage types must be registered for transferring external wage components to Payroll before they are used. You can do this in Customizing for Payroll or by using the PrimaryWageType.RegisterExt BAPI method.
