Definition

Logical system in which product catalogs are created and distributed via ALE.

Use

When catalogs are distributed via ALE, the logical system assigned to the sending client is entered in the catalog master data. The entry is also adopted for all further ALE copies of the catalog, so that the original logical system is recorded in the master data of each catalog created via ALE. Catalogs created online do not have an entry.

In each network system that is to receive catalogs via ALE, a separate external layout number range for ALE inbound can be assigned to each of its origian systems.

Dependencies

In both the sending and recieving systems, it may be necessary to define each sending client as a logical system.

  • First define the logical systems
  • The assign the clients to the relevant logical systems before entries are made and catalogs distributed via ALE

Make any necessary Customizing settings if you have the required authorization.
Contact your system administrator if you cannot make the settings yourself.

The steps in the process are listed in Customizing for Distribution (ALE) under Prepare sending-and receiving systems -> Set up logical systems .
