Definition
The interest category classifies interest-bearing securities and loans. The following could be possible characteristics:
0: Fixed --> Interest calculation constant with a fixed interest
rate
1: Variable --> Interest calculation variable but the same condition
item is valid for whole period.
2: Other --> Interest calculation which cannot be classified by
another category
3: Fixed variable --> Interest rate fixed for whole period but the
interest rate varies (e.g. federal savings bond)
The interest category is not relevant to all other product categories such as stocks, investment certificates and so on.
