Definition
If any combination of the characteristic values listed in the variant table occurs, a configuration conflict is denoted. The table lists inconsistent combinations.
Use
Choose this type of constraint if a configuration conflict is to be denoted in case the user selects a specific combination of characteristic values during interactive configuration.
Prerequisites
Provide a variant table listing the value combinations which are to be rated as inconsistent.
The wizard will identify and display all tables that refer to characteristics of the configuration object, the class or the material. Therefore selecting a table means to select the characteristics to be checked on inconsistent combinations.
If the wizard cannot find a variant table, referring to characteristics of the configuration object, you will be asked to create one.
The content of the table can be maintained independently from the wizard.
Example
Take for example the configurable material Car. Amongst others the following characteristics are defined:
Car Model: Limousine, Estate, Convertible
Extras: Trailer Coupling, Sunroof, TV
The combination of convertible and sunroof is viewed as inconsistent. A configuration conflict shall be denoted in case the user selects this combination during interactive configuration.
List the value combination Convertible and Sunroof in a table:
Car Model Extras
Convertible Sunroof
With this table you can apply the intended inconsistency check.
