Definition
The shipping document type category is used to classify the individual shipping document types as regards their assignment to procedures in shipping and production. This classification can then be used to sort shipping document types and assign them to different destinations.
Example
For example, the shipping document type 'Truck route list' might be assigned to truck routes, meaning that creation of this document type is truck route-oriented.
The shipping document type 'Address label' is production-oriented, so that it would be assigned to issues at the printing works.

Use
Since a shipping document type grouping contains document types that are to be grouped together, these document types must all belong to the same category. For example, you cannot group truck route-oriented and edition-oriented shipping document types together since this would make no sense.
Procedure
For this reason, you should enter the shipping document type category for the grouping in question in this field.
