Definition

Specifies the type of logical link for the steps in the virus scan profile.

Use

If a virus scan profile contains definitions for multiple steps that are to be processed when scanning with the profile, you can use this field to control how the entire result of the scan is to be evaluated.

  • All Steps Successful: The scan must have performed all steps without errors.
  • At Least One Step Successful: It is sufficient that one step of the scan was successfully performed.

Using multiple steps allows you to scan documents with scan engines from different vendors simultaneously.

Dependencies

The system regards a scan as error-free only if the scan engine returns the return value "Check performed successfully", or (in the case of a cleanup) "Cleanup performed successfully".

All other return values are regarded as unsuccessful scans. This also includes situations such as:

  • Document was not checked, because the file name extension has been classified as non-critical
  • Document could not be checked because it is a password-protected archive.
  • The scan engine is obsolete.
