Definition
Vehicle Management System roles that have specific control functions.
Use
In VMS basic data, you:
- Assign vehicle model to VMS roles (transaction VELORM)
- Assign organizational data to VMS roles (transaction VELORO)
- Define the configuration change profile, and assign a role to it (transaction VELOP).
Users are assigned to VMS roles in transaction VELORU. One or more roles can be assigned with vehicle models, only one role with organizational data, and only one role for configuration change profiles.
This controls which vehicle models the user is permitted to see, the organization he works for, and which configurations he is permitted to change.

The roles themselves are created in Customizing (IMG activity Determine VMS Roles).
