Procedure
Enter the date on which the piece of equipment is installed at the customer location.
Use
The installation date can then used as the baseline date for determining other dates in the contract.
Example
A maintenance contract for a photocopier is to be begin on the first of the month after the machine has been installed at the customer location. You leave the contract start date field in the contract blank. However, you enter a date rule for the contract start date which has the installation date as its baseline date. The photocopier is installed on 03.13.95. When you enter this date in the system, the contract start date 04.01.95 is determined automatically and entered in the contract.
