Definition
This indicator controls automatic assignment of document versions.
Use
When you create a new version of a document, the new version number is assigned automatically according to the version increment defined.
Examples
This is what happens:
- When you create a new version, you see the special character * in the field Version. If you delete the * or enter your own number, your entry is ignored. The new version number is assigned automatically according to the version increment defined.
- You see the automatically assigned version number on the Create Document:Basic Data screen in the Version field.
Dependencies
In the Version number increment field, you define how the next number is calculated.
