Definition
Activates the material-dependent maintenance of vendor-related characteristic values for generic materials.
Use
In the standard system, you can define vendor-dependent characteristic values for characteristics in the classification system. These apply independently to all materials that use the relevant material.
In the case of generic materials that have a large number of characteristic variants, it may not be necessary to define the characteristic values for each vendor and characteristic. It may be that each generic material has its own individual characteristic values for the specified vendor, so that the definition of the vendor-dependent characteristic values can be defined at the generic material level and therefore apply to all variants of the generic material.
Dependencies
It remains possible to store other material types (for example, single materials) at vendor level.
