Procedure

Enter a date rule if you want the contract start date to be calculated by indirect date determination. Leave the contract start date blank.

Use

As soon as you enter the baseline date for the date rule in the contract, the system automatically defines the contract start date on the basis of this date

Example

You have agreed with the customer that the contract for the hire of a photocopier is to begin on the date the photocopier is installed at the customer location. Therefore, you enter the date rule for which the installation date is defined as the baseline date. As soon as you enter the installation date in the contract, the system automatically copies this date into the contract start date field.
