The actual weight of an issue can be maintained manually.
It is used principally in service settlement, but also in the postal delivery lists on which settlement of postal charges is based.
Inserts should not be included in the entry in this field since the weight is not stored for specific insert mixes. The weight including inserts is determined dynamically by the settlement functions using the various insert mixes.
