Definition

The part of the IDoc that flags that the IDoc concerned is to be created with the ALE distribution unit (UPS).

Use

If you connect more SAP object types - or your own - to the UPS, this can lead to syntax errors because the segment is not designated for the Basic Type.

You therefore need to enter an ALE segment.

Dependencies

You created your own segment as a copy of E1UPSLINK.

Example

For SAP-delivered object types with the key segment E1UPSLINK.

For how to define an object type, such as Characteristic, refer to the corresponding IMG activity. Define Object Type.

In ALE, the message type CHRMAS, as well as different basic types (message formats), such as CHRMAS01, CHRMAS 02, belong to object type CHR in the UPS.
