Definition

Field for characteristic values in the data columns or lead columns.

You can use the field in two different ways, it all depends on whether the characteristic values are transferred as fixed values or are determined using variables:

  • Characteristic values as fixed values:
If, for the current characteristic in the planning level, fixed values are entered as the selection, then enter a characteristic value here. This value must be within the area that you have entered as a selection condition. If you want to display values in the rows (columns), which are outside of the selection condition, select the row (column) as a comparison row (colummn), and enter any master data for the characteristic. The input help automatically adapts itself in accordance with the settings of the checkbox for a comparison row (column).
  • Characteristic values by variable replacement:
If you want to use a variable to determine the characteristic value (a variable for this characteristic must be determined in the level), position the cursor on the row of the table in which you want to use the variable, and choose the Variables on/off pushbutton. In the following dialog field, you can set up which offset the variable should get. The offset concerning the smallest value of the variable is always meant here. If the offset is outside the selection set for the variable (if for example, the offset is negative), then the system automatically converts the row (column) into a comparison row (column). If you want to delete a variable again and replace it with a fixed value, then press the "Fixed value" radio button in the dialog field. If a fixed value is used, the row (column) must always be a comparison row (column). If necessary, the system corrects the settings.

If you want the system to generate data columns or rows in the lead column dynamically, select the appropriate checkbox in the list. The field for the characteristic values is locked in the rows/columns marked as dynamic against entries, and the technical name of the characteristic is displayed. In this case, the number of generated rows/columns and respective characteristic values are determined from the current selection (level or package). If you have indicated the appropriate row/column as a comparison row/column, then you can get the system to generate the rows/columns and the characteristic values from the selection of a variable. To do this use the Variables on/off pushbutton and proceed as described above.
