Definition

The following settings can be made for every characteristic of the lead columns: 'Hierarchy', 'total' or 'no total'. According to the type of the layout, only a part of these settings are offered. The possible cases are listed in the section below.

  • Exactly one lead column, rows not defined fixed in layout. In the Layout-Builder, every option 'hierarchy', 'total' or 'no total' can be selected. The system determines whether the settings can be effective at the runtime of manual planning:
    • If no hierarchy is defined in the planning level or in the planning package, but the option 'hierarchy' is preset, then the default setting 'no total' is set; for the planning session itself only the options 'total' or 'no total' can be selected. In these cases either a subtotal is displayed or not.
    • If a BW hierarchy is defined in the planning level or in the planning package, the default setting is then transferred from the planning layout; in addition to 'total' and 'no total', 'hierarchy' can also be selected. In this case, the characteristic values are displayed in the structure of the hierarchy. An exception to this rule are BW hierarchies with postable nodes, to display such a hierarchy, on the first screen of the Layout-Builder select the option 'Hierarchical Data Model' and there 'Bw Hierarchy with Postable Nodes'. This setting cannot be changed at runtime of planning. You can find further information on this topic in BW Hierarchy with Postable Nodes.
  • More than one lead column: The options 'total' or 'no total' can be selected for the characteristics of the lead column. In the setting 'total' the system forms subtotals over the characteristic concerned.
