Definition
Here you specify how the system should determine the target period, in relation to the current period (=initial period). Note that the current period is not necessarily identical to the system date as it is also determined by the system on the basis of the system date.

If we assume that the system date is March 23, 2001, and you defined the fiscal year variant as 12 months with January as the first period. The following settings then lead to the results listed below (note that the initial period is calculated using the system date as a basis, while the initial target period is calculated based on the initial period):
