Definition

Defines whether or not the system is to access buffered data.

Use

Depending on the context, you can choose between the following options:

  • If you choose Only read from BW, the data is always read directly from SAP BW.
  • If you choose Only read from buffer , the system only reads the data that was written manually to the buffer by the administrator, using process administration. If the buffer does not contain any data, the system notifies you with a message.
  • If you choose Read data with latest time stamp from buffer / BW, the current values are displayed automatically in the presentation. This is based on a comparison of the time stamps every time the data is accessed. (See: Only buffer data with later time stamp .)

Note that all data read from the buffer has the BW-specific authorization unchecked. If BW data is read directly, an authorization check is executed for the user.

Dependencies

You execute manual buffering of data for a scorecard in the Balanced Scorecard Monitor (Start function). You execute manual buffering of data for a cockpit in the Management Cockpit Monitor (Start function).
