Excerpt from a process selection matrix

The organizational units or links between two organizational units are assigned process selection matrices containing precisely those processes that are carried out by a specific organizational unit or that flow between two organizational units. With a process flow, data can be transferred from one application to another.

For example, from shipping in SD the customer order is transferred to billing in SD, from where a customer billing document is transferred to G/L accounting in FI.
