Definition
Entities, which are physical or abstract objects (such as Mr. Douglas, the "Sales Information System" project), are divided according to their properties into entity types. Each entity type is assigned attributes, which describe the entities of the entity type.
Names of entity types can contain alphanumeric characters and underscores in any given sequence. The first eight characters of an entity type name should not be the same of that of another entity type, since this would mean that the default view name could not be used for Dictionary assignment.

- You can display the complete list of entity types by selecting modeling object Entity type, positioning the cursor on the entry field, and clicking on the arrow that appears next to the field. You can then select the entity type your require from the list.
- You can call the Information System by marking modeling object Entity type and selecting menu options Utilities -> Find. You can then search generically for the entity type you require by entering known attributes of the entity type.
