Definition

All SAP EDM data models have the same architecture, which is based on areas.

Areas combine entity types, which have the same purpose, according to semantic criteria.

Areas are identified by unique names. Only alphanumeric characters are allowed. The first character must be a letter.

Use

Procedure

Select object class Area and enter the name of the area you wish to edit.

If you first need to locate a specific area, you have the following options:

1. Select object class Area, position the cursor on the entry field, and click on the arrow that appears next to the field. You can then select the area your require from the list.
2. Call the information system by selecting object Area and the menu options Utilities -> Find. You can then search for the area you require be entering the information you know about it.
