Definition
The comparative effective interest rate is calculated using the same method as for the actual effective interest rate of a loan. The differences are:
- the capital balance is not included in the calculation
- other condition types may be included in the calculation which are not taken into account when calculating the normal effective interest rate.
Calculating the comparative effective interest rate is especially useful for annuity loans, since it allows you to compare an offer for a loan which is already running with an offer made by another bank, which does not take account of the capital balance.
