The time zone describes the location of an object regarding its local time.
The basic rule describes
- the time difference between zones in hours and minutes relative to UTC
- Beginning and end of summer time.
Based on this rule, it is neither necessary nor meaningful to use different time zones for summer and winter time.
With the help of the ABAP command convert, local times can be converted to a UTC time stamp. The parameters are always the local time (date and time), time zone, and UTC time stamp. Definition
