Definition
The trend value is that part of the forecast model that is used in forecast calculation. It represents the historical level of the forecast model.
For trend models and seasonal trend models, the system calculates and updates the increase in value using the trend value.
The trend value is normally calculated automatically using historical values. However, it can also be entered manually. The system then updates the trend value at the end of every period using the beta factor.
