Use
Here, you can enter the name of a group or a general set. The content of this group or set is then consulted to delimit the objects to be maintained. In addition, only the amount allocation data is archived that belongs to objects contained in the group or set.
Also(or precisely) when you specify a group or set, you should always enter the object type and controlling area(s). Delimitation across various object types is only possible if you use a general object number set. However, this way of working is not recommended. For more details on general object number sets, see below.
Pay attention to the comments on input help (F4 Help) at the end of this text.
Depending on the object type the profitability analysis data belongs to, the following entries are possible or desirable:
Profitability Analysis (object type ERG)
The profitability analysis uses profitability segments. To delimit further the amount allocation data for profitability analysis you can use general sets for the number of this profitability segment (PAOBJNR) or general object number sets. For more detailed information, see below.
Orders (Object type AUF)
To select specific orders, you should use an order group. Order groups can be in different areas, for example, ininternal orders, created, changed, and displayed. Order groups can also be created from the Master Data Index.
You can also use a general set for field AUFNR. For more detailed information, see below.
Order groups can be used across controlling areas, so you do not always have to enter a controlling area when you use an order group. However, it is recommended that you only use groups that contain orders from one controlling area, and also enter this controlling area in the selection screen.
Note on groups, general sets, and general object number sets
The description above frequently mentions the terms "general set" and "general object number set". These terms mean the following:
General set: In the special ledgers (FI-SL), sets for user-defined tables can be created, changed, and displayed . To create one of these sets, you need a table name and a field. To archive amount allocation data, the table name "CCSS" is normally used, but other tables are also possible, for example, master data tables for the respective object. "CEST4" is suitable for the profitability analysis. The field names to be used are specified for the single object types described above.
General object number set: A general set for field CCSS-OBJNR can be created for each object type. Such sets can also be used for selecting the objects to be maintained when archiving amount allocation data. However, a prerequisite for this is exact knowledge of the general object number structure. You should therefore only use this option as a temporary solution.
When using general object number sets, ensure that you either enter only single values (no "to-values" in the set's basic entries), or that the upper and lower limits belong to the same object type.
If possible, always use one group for selecting the objects, or leave the field empty. If this is not possible, then you can use a general set for a specific field. Even if this is not possible either, you should consider general object number sets.
Note on input help (F4 Help)
It may be that not all possible values are displayed in the input help. Depending on the object type, only groups, general sets for a specific field, or general object number sets are displayed. If you do not enter an object type, then only the general object number sets are displayed. Generally, it is also necessary to enter an object type before executing the input help for groups or sets, otherwise you must enter the set you want directly (that is, without input help).
You can use the following table to find out which input help is displayed for which object types. For all object types not listed here, only general object number sets are provided.
