Definition

Specifies the partial quantity (open quantity) that still needs to be packed.

Use

This field has the following effects:

• Pack function
  If you select an item, the system automatically packs the quantity that was entered. The partial quantity is always less than or equal to the total quantity.
• Per part. qty function
  When you select an item, this quantity of that material is packed in each handling unit.
• If full function
  This field has no effect, since for this function, the Total quantity field controls what quantity of material is packed in each HU, taking weight and volume limits into consideration.

Example

Partial quantity = 2
Total quantity = 6

• Pack function
  A quantity of two is packed into the selected handling unit, provided that this quantity does not exceed weight or volume limits. Now the partial quantity is 4. If the quantity of two exceeds weight or volume limits, a quantity of one is packed and the partial quantity is now 5.
• Per part. qty function:
  3 handling units are created and each handling unit contains 2 pieces of this material.
• If full function
  No effect. The Total quantity field is the only field that affects this function.

Designates the partial quantity to be packed in a shipping unit.

Use

If you mark an item for packing, the system will automatically designate as partial quantity the open quantity to be packed. You can likewise specify a quantity is to be packed manually.
