Definition

The reference object serves to determine the time zone and the factory calendar. If no time zone is found for the specified object, the system uses a time zone found using the defined search sequence. This is done so that the dates can be given default values. In general, a time zone that is set by the user applies to the date. The rules are only processed if no time zone is specified.

The following reference objects are supplied:

  • System
    • Time zone of database server.
  • User
    • Time zone from the fixed values of the current user.
    • If no time zone is found, this is logged and a time zone is supplied by the database server.
  • Customer
    • Time zone from the address of the main partner in a transaction. The system takes the general address for the transaction (standard address or different document address).
    • If no time zone is found, the time zone is determined as follows:
    • Time zone of the current user
    • Time zone of the database server
  • Activity
    • Time zone from the contact location for the activity.
    • If no time zone is found, the time zone is determined as follows:
    • Time zone of the address of the contact partner, The system takes the address valid for the transaction (standard address or different document address).
    • Time duration of the address of the activity partner. The system takes the address valid for the transaction (standard address or different add ress).
    • Time zone of the current user
    • Time zone of the database server
