Definition
Mini-templates constitute the smallest set of attributes available and generally represent those data sets of master data objects which already exist. They are used in turn to define and create templates. For example, you may wish to create a sales mini-template specifically for customers, or more generally a template type for sales area data consisting of sales data, shipping data, and pricing data.

Use
Mini-templates can be either sales-area-dependent or sales-area-independent. They can be used either to define data or for sales area assignment, thus enabling the same data sets to be used for multiple sales areas. If they are assigned to sales areas, they do not themselves contain any data.
Sales-area-independent and sales-area dependent mini-templates can be brought together to assign sales-area-dependent data sets to business partners. This involves assigning a mini-template you have defined to the relevant sales area, and then in turn assigning a sales-area-independent mini-template defined with the relevant data to it.
