The exchange rate refers to the number of currency units entered here for the last named currency.
The entry * means: Different combinations of translation ratios exist in the area of validity.
These different combinations can lead to undesired effects during currency translation.
Example:
The average rate ITL -> DEM is 1.25 in 1997.
The translation ratios change on July 7 1997 from 100:1 to
1000:1. Prior to July 7 1997, 1,000 ITL equal 12.50 DEM, following
July 7, 1.25 DEM.
