Definition

The delivery date for the schedule line. The delivery date may be

• The date requested by the customer, or (if the requested date cannot be met)
• The earliest date proposed by the system after automatic availability checks and delivery scheduling

Material availability date: by this date there must be a sufficient quantity available in an item in order for picking to begin.

Use

The system uses the delivery date for each schedule line together with predefined time estimates for delivery procedures (such as picking and packing) to determine the

• Material availability date
• Loading date

The system uses the material availability date to generate requirements for production and purchasing. The system determines the date by calculating backwards from the requested delivery date and taking into account how much time is needed to complete all the activities associated with a delivery such as picking, packing, loading and shipping.

Note

If there is more than one schedule line for the item, the system displays the earliest delivery date in the item and overview screens.
