Definition

This indicator determines whether the system is to calculate the order dates in the planning table using detailed planning, rate-based planning or Sequencing.

Use

  • Select detailed planning if you want to carry out lead time scheduling based on a routing, and have set detailed scheduling as scheduling level for the planned orders.
  • Select rate-based planning if you want to carry out lead time scheduling based on a routing, and have set rate-based scheduling as scheduling level for your planned orders.
  • Select Sequencing if you want to use the planning table in conjunction with Sequencing. Here, instead of the capacity planning table, you can link to the Sequencing planning table. Scheduling is carried out by Sequencing, which means simple quantity scheduling if you have only entered a production rate in the line hierarchy, or scheduling based on takts, if you have carried out line balancing. Here, the system does not use the routing for schdeduling but the number of takts and rates defined in the line hierarchy.

Dependencies

Adjusting the basic dates must be carried out on the basis of the scheduling level you have selected. You make the settings for adjusting the basic dates as for the scheduling levels in Customizing, in workstep, Define scheduling parameters for planned orders.
