Definition
Specifies the date a set of rules and conditions constituting a derivative contract specification becomes effective. When reading the set of rules and conditions, the system considers the latest valid version only.
Use
A derivative contract specification contains rules and conditions that are agreed upon at an exchange and that form the contract basis for trading with a specific commodity or for a specific financial instrument. These rules and conditions like contract size, tick value or strike amount may change over time. The "Valid From" date is used to define the effectivity of a derivative contract specification change.
