Definition
Specifies the technical key of the address to which the borrower sends checks and coupons to make payment on regular due items for a loan.
The remittance point is the address of the branch of a lockbox provider that is the closest to the borrowers mailing address (main payment address).
Use
Dependencies
For each loan contract there are different remittance points to which the borrower sends checks and coupons in order to fulfill his payment obligations. This means that the remittance point for regular payment installments is usually different from the one used to make a payoff.
Example
You can differentiate between the following loan obligations, for example:
- Standard Bill
Standard bills contain the scheduled due charges, interest, etc. Standard bills are sent to the address of the lockbox provider. This applies to the majority of bills.
- Receivables List for Payoff
List of all outstanding items that a borrower still has to repay for a loan. Receivables lists are sent to a special remittance point that normally differs from the address of the lockbox provider.
