Definition

Indicates the Default Status of a loan. The default status changes depending on the length of time and the amount by which a borrower defaults on payments for a loan or has defaulted on payments in the past.

The lender can initiate different steps within the default process, depending on the default status of a loan.

Example

You can enter the following status for your default process, for example:

• BPP

  Borrower has promised to pay.

• LRP

  Lender has received the promise.

• NPP

  Borrower has not made payment as promised.

• NA

  Lender places the loan in the status non-accrual because the borrower has not made the promised payments within the defined tolerance period.

• INS

  Lender declares borrower insolvent.

• FC

  Lender starts foreclosure proceedings against the borrower.
