Documentation
Definition
You can use the correspondence role to assign additional control parameters for generating correspondence to each correspondence type.
Use
Correspondence roles enable you to arrange outgoing correspondence in accordance with the correspondence role.
You can assign correspondence roles to a contract on the Correspondence tab page. The control parameters defined in a correspondence role are evaluated when the correspondence run is executed, and then used accordingly.

Example
If you define a correspondence role as 'private correspondence recipient' you can create an application form for this correspondence type and correspondence role in the Customizing settings for application forms. This would present the data in a more compact form and with a layout suitable for a private person, for example.
However, you can also use an application form that is valid for all roles. In this case, you can check which correspondence role was defined for the application form, as this appears in the field DFKKCOH-CORR_ROLE.
