Use

A screen variant is essentially a screen (or screens) containing certain fields defined for that variant. If screen variants are transported to another system the screens have to be assigned new numbers. In order to be able to recognize screen variants imported from a foreign system, the system records here for each variant the system in which they were created.

Screen variants from foreign systems are automatically regenerated when they are first used.
