Definition
Maximum length of the text of short messages (pager/SMS).
Note: The maximum length is specified in bytes, meaning that the number of characters that can be transmitted depends on the character set used and possibly the content of the text.
Use
If a message to be sent is longer than value specified, the rest of the text is ignored. If no maximum length is specified, the whole text is transferred to the communication provider, which then either shortens the message, divides it up into several messages, or returns it with an error.
