Documentation

Definition

The domain of an Internet mail address is the part of the Internet mail address after the @ character.

In the Internet mail address marcus.adams@sap.com the domain is sap.com.

Supplementary Documentation - SX_DOMAIN 0001

Use

The default domain is defined client-wide for an SAP system. It is used to automatically generate the Internet mail address of the sender if an address is not maintained for the sender in the central address management.

If the sender is a person, the SAP user name is used as the local part of the Internet mail address. If the sender is a Business object (for example, a workflow work item), a form of the object ID is used as the local part.

Dependencies

Example

If the default domain is SAP.COM and the user name TESTUSER, the mail address would be TESTUSER@SAP.COM.

Supplementary Documentation - SX_DOMAIN 0002

Use

The domain to be entered is used to send faxes and short messages (paging) using the SMTP node. The fax or the SMS is sent as an Internet mail to a fax or SMS provider, which then forwards the Internet mail as a fax or SMS. The fax or SMS number has to be converted into an Internet address. The fax or SMS number is used as the local part. The domain is that of the fax or SMS provider.

Dependencies

Example

'faxprovider.com' is entered as the domain. An Internet mail is then sent from a fax to the number +1 702 555 1234 to the address FAX=+17025551234@faxprovider.com.
