Definition
An authentication is to be executed on the SMTP server using SMTP AUTH. This only happens if the logon data has been transferred securely
Use
It is defined that TLS is not used, or only when possible. If a connection is built without TLS, the logon data is transferred to authentication in plaintext. This is not secure and is not recommended.
If possible, define that TLS is mandatory. The logon data is then transferred securely.
