Definition
The hierarchy dimension determines whether a hierarchical summarization is to be carried out and for which dimension (for example, cost center).
Here you define which set in the rollup header set is to be used to determine the hierarchy structure.
Note
If you carry out a rollup with hierarchical summarization, you can eliminate the internal business volume that has occured within a set node (= area).
A typical example of this would be internal cost allocation between two cost centers that lie below a superior node cost center.
In this case, however, you would have to enter a dimension as the hierarchy dimension, for which a corresponding rollup partner dimension is defined in the integrated master data (FI-SL configuration menu -> Environment -> Master data -> Integrated master data -> Rollup partner dimension).
