Definition

Logical name of the server, from which the RFC destination for the STEP server exists.

Dependencies

You can maintain the RFC destination when you carry out the following transaction: SM59 Create and maintain RFC destinations. Enter T (TCP/IP - connection) as the connection type.
Select one of the following activation types:

  • Start (only if the converter is running on a UNIX machine)

    Select: Start from explicit host.

    • Enter XXX as the program with the complete path z.B./cad/eai/konverter/rfc2corba. The program can be found on another conversion server.
    • You enter the name of the host, on which the conversion is installed, as the target host.
    • Save and test the link. According to requirements, the program can be started by remsh or rsh.

Note:
On the UNIX-host you have to create a user with the name of the user under which the SAP Gateway runs.
In the home directory of the user, create the file .rhosts and then enter the name of all SAP Gateway hosts there.

  • Registration (UNIX and Windows)

Select any program name (max. 10 characters). Enter the following data:

    • Select Gateway options as the destination.
    • Select one of your Gateway hosts as the Gateway host.
    • Enter a Gateway service as the Gateway service, for example: sapgw53.
    • Save and test the link.

Note:
First start the program from the conversion server, for example, with rfc2corba -a <ProgrammID> -g <Gateway-Host> -x <Gateway-Service> (Parameter from the transaction SM59).
Configure your computer so that the program starts automatically with every restart.
