Definition

The response time of a dialog step describes here the length of time from the request of the dialog to the dispatcher work process, through the processing of the dialog, to the ending of the dialog in the dispatcher and the transfer of the data to the presentation layer.

Note that the time for the processing of the communication step "Presentation -- Dispatcher -- Presentation" is not included in this. For very remote networks, or networks with poor performance, this contribution can lead to significantly longer "subjective" response times.

The response time is usually broken into wait time plus "dispatched" time.
