Definition
If the external RFC server program can be started using the gateway of the application server (which excludes those external RFC server programs that can be registered or started using SAPGUI), you can select the following start types in transaction SM59 for the RFC destination:
- Default gateway value
- Remote shell
- Remote execution
- Secure shell
The gateway default is the current value of the profile parameter gw/rem_start of the application server.
Note:
If the profile parameter gw/rem_start is set to DISABLED, then you cannot select a start type.
