Definition

Identification number defining a given starting point.

This starting point enables you to determine the date on which a period begins or that until which past payroll results are to be processed.

In the same way a start number determines the date of the payroll period used as a compare date.

The start date can be specified in three different ways:

  1. Fixed date : Enter a calendar date
  2. Variable date : The date assigned is the employee-dependent entry date
  3. Date type : Here you must specify the date type to be read from infotype 41 (date specifications) for the employee. If this does not exist for the employee, the default date is used. You must therefore always maintain both fields when using this means of specifying the date.

Use

The relevant starting point of an interval with this starting point is determined by counting up according to the length of the interval. The number is increased by interval lengths until the date obtained is later than or the same as the selected compare date within the corresponding payroll period.

A start time which has been obtained is updated by adding a further interval length.

The start and end date of an interval are stored in the payroll results cluster with the appropriate identifier for the compare date.
