Documentation

Definition

Under normal circumstances, a dialog step should be forwarded from the dispatcher work process to the user process immediately after it is requested. In these circumstances, the average wait time in the dispatcher work process is a few milliseconds. If the total utilization of the application server or the entire system is high, however, wait situations in the dispatcher queue arise. Significant response times ( > 1s) can occur. The number of work processes on the application server is another factor in the occurrence of wait times.
