Definition
A number of interfaces provide the SAP application with data for various purposes. The amount of data requested depends on the interface/data type, which could be any of the following:
Screen Sources
Screen Load
ABAP Sources
ABAP Load
CUA Sources
CUA Load
Nametab Interface
CPIC Interface
DDIC Interface
DSQL Interface (user data from the database)
The (net) bytes transferred using the aforementioned interfaces are referred to as "application bytes".
The other type of transfer here is the (net) transfer of bytes between the application server and the frontend apparatus (presentation server). This is known as "terminal in/out message".
All specified byte sizes refer to pure "net bytes" that are of use to the application. These sizes do not therefore reflect the actual byte transfer by the local or global LAN/WAN. The relevant correction factors can be used with packeting and log overheads.
