Definition
The object type of the application is used to name the various information object types that are integrated with Records Management.
Use
Naming object types makes it possible to display information objects on entities used in Records Management. In particular, information objects can be displayed on the following entities:
- Element type that is used to represent the object type in Records Management
- Element type of the record in which the object is inserted
- Record model of the record in which the object is inserted
- Record node of the record - identified by node attribute ANCHOR - to which the object is inserted
Dependencies
Objet types are classified using the application object category.
Parameters for application object types are created for each integration scenario.
Example
While automatically compiling personnel records, you want to create a new personnel record when a new HR master record is created. The HR entity 'employee' is represented by BOR object type BUS1065. Use this object type in conjunction with object category 80 in order to configure the parameters for integration with Records Management.
You also need to insert HR master data records (infotypes).automatically into the personnel records. To do this, define new application object types, such as Z_INFTY_0001, Z_INFTY_0002 and so on, in order to be able to create the configuration parameters for displaying the HR infotypes in Records Management. You must create a new application object category for these application object types, such as Z_INFTY.
In BAdIs or user exits that are called in the HR program flow, read the configuration parameters with the function module SRM_AI_GET_OTYPE_PARAMETERS. This provides you with the parameters needed to automatically create or change records.
