Use

Using requests and tasks, you can manage repository or Customizing objects within an SAP system or transport them between the various SAP systems.

There are different kinds of requests or tasks, and they serve different purposes within the SAP system:

Change Requests

  • Transportable Change Request
    Recording of changes to repository objects and their transport to other SAP systems
  • Local Change Request
    Recording of changes to repository objects within an SAP system
  • Customizing Request
    Recording of changes to Customizing settings and their possible transport to other SAP systems or other clients

Tasks

  • Correction
    Recording of changes to
    • repository objects that are performed in the original system of the object
    • Customizing settings
  • Repair
    Recording of changes to repository objects that are not performed in the original system of the object

Other request types include:

  • Transports of copies
  • Transports of originals
    • Moving objects with package change
    • Moving objects without package change
    • Moving packages (with automatic change of transport layer)
  • Client transports
  • Object lists
  • Delivery transports (for upgrades and patches)

Procedure

To create or edit requests or tasks, use the Change and Transport System (CTS).
