Definition

As a rule, a telephony server is operated in the operation mode "dialog" (for example, for all telephone functions such as dialing, accepting a call, hanging up, initiating a conference,...).

You can set up one telephony server per client for the operation mode "background". It is advisable to use this operation mode for time-consuming functions that do not have to run in dialog (for example, for transferring a list of telephone numbers to be dialed of an outbound campaign to a call center or for querying the statistical data of a campaign and transferring it back into the SAP system).

The following procedure is conceivable:

  1. A list (possibly very extensive) of telephone numbers to be dialed is transferred during the night to an outbound campaign of the call center.
  2. This list is processed during the day.
  3. During the following night not only is a new list transferred to the call center but the statistical data of the old list is also transferred back into the SAP system.

Note that, for system technical reasons, only one telephony server is allowed per client.
