Use
The start time is the time of day from which it should be attempted to send messages with the specified priority. Via the indicator 'next day' you can set whether the time refers to the current day or the next day.
Procedure
Set the start time, if you want messages with a particular priority to be sent later (e.g. to save transport costs).
Examples
As soon as you set a start time, you should set the end time to another value. The following combinations for example are sensible:
- Start time = 2:00h, End time = 0:00h (initial), 'next day' set.
This means that a message will be sent from 2:00 the next day.
- Start time = 2:00h, End time = 5:00h, 'next day' set.
This means that a message will only be sent between 2:00h und 5:00h the next day. After 5:00h it will be deleted from the communication system.
- Start time = 0:00h (initial), End time = 0:00h (initial), 'next day' not set.
In this case the send time is not limited, an attempt will be made to send the message straight away.
- Start time = 8:00h, End time = 2:00h, 'next day' not set.
An attempt will be made to send the message on the current day between 8.00h at the earliest and 2:00h the next day.
Supplementary Documentation - SO_TIM_SD 0002
Use
If you set an end time for messages of a particular priority, the system will only attempt to send messages up until this time. After this time the message will be deleted by the node.
If you do not wish the message to be deleted, you can leave the end time as initial and set the start time. This means that the end time 00:00:00h is the initial value, not however a valid end time.
Procedure
Set the end time for a particular priority, if you want to ensure that the message is sent by this time today (or tomorrow, if the identification 'Tomorrow' is set).
Examples
As soon as you set the start time, you should set the end time to another value. The following combinations are sensible, for example:
- Start time = 2:00h, End time = 0:00h (initial), Tomorrow set.
This means that a message will be sent from 2:00 tomorrow.
- Start time = 2:00h, End time = 5:00h, Tomorrow set.
This means that a message will only be sent between 2:00h and 5:00h tomorrow. After 5:00h the message is deleted from the communication system.
- Start time = 0:00h (initial), End time = 0:00h (initial), Tomorrow not set
In this case the send time is not limited, the system will attempt to send the message strsight away.
- Start time = 8:00h, End time = 2:00h, Tomorrow not set.
The system will attempt to send the message between 8:00h today at the earliest and 2:00h tomorrow.
